Clinical Skills Conference

On the 18th October, the future medical students of The Priory Academy LSST travelled to North Kesteven Academy to participate in a workshop run by Nottingham and Leicester Universities in conjunction with the Medical Schools' Council. The aim of the day was to improve our students’ understanding of life as a medical student and provide more opportunities in terms of work experience and UKCAT and interview practice. Students were even lucky enough to learn some basic clinical skills like taking a patient history, which they then had to perform on complete strangers. Though awkward, it was a very interesting experience! Our students now have a better insight into what grades they need in order to get into medical school, the true nature of the course when they get there and the reality of becoming a doctor after that.
