A Winter Recital

On Wednesday, 7th December at 7pm, the Old Hall played host to the Music Department’s Winter Recital; an opportunity for ensemble groups and soloists across all year groups to display their excellent musical ability. The students were fantastic, delighting the audience with familiar and unfamiliar works. There were a variety of musical pieces in different styles, from classical to jazz to popular music and performances included an assortment of instruments; strings, woodwind, brass, piano, voice and percussion. The evening was well attended and friends and family in the audience were very appreciative of the huge amount of talent shown. One parent emailed to say “Thank for a very enjoyable evening on Wednesday. The amount of talent displayed by the students involved during the evening was immense. …. the music staff have clearly provided a supportive environment where musical ability of all kinds is able to shine and flourish.” The Music Department as a whole, including instrumental and vocal teaching staff and students, worked very hard preparing for this event and it certainly showed.  We can all feel very proud of the musical talent within the Academy.
