National Children's Choir Workshop

The Priory Academy LSST were delighted to host one of the first workshops in the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain’s ‘Resound’ project. This is a national programme of school and community based workshops which aim to encourage children and young people to explore the potential of their voices and have a fun and enjoyable singing experience. 240 Year 7 students participated in a 2-hour workshop led by Suzzie Vango and Robert Challinor from NCCGB. The workshop involved learning a wide range of songs, complete with movement, actions and dancing. Students were encouraged to explore different parts and ranges of their voice and the huge variety of sounds they are able to create. Students and staff alike had a fantastic time and their performances across the two hours showed increased confidence and enthusiasm for singing, which is one of the main features of the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum in Music.
