World Book Day 2016

World Book Day was celebrated in school with competitions based on the works of the wonderful Roald Dahl: it is the centenary of his birth this year.

Year 7 forms worked together and used all their imagination and creative skills to make front doors to the homes of some of Dahl’s most famous characters. Well done to the team from 7.2 who won with their fabulous door to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. Well done also to Phoebe Wright in year 7, who won first prize in our 500 words Short Story Competition.

Year 8 dressed members of their tutor groups up as Roald Dahl characters and 8RS won with very inventive costumes for ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’.

We also had a Big Book Quiz in the library, and congratulations to Alexandria who won first place.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the celebration of reading and books and we hope you all enjoyed yourselves.
