Year 7 Have a Blast at the French Centre
Heidi tells us about 7.6's time at Centre Des Etoiles
On the 22nd - 26th October, 7.6 went to the Centre Des Etoiles in France. Many things went on that week, from seeing the Bayeux Tapestry to the Bayeux market.
The journey began at 6.30 am Monday morning; the whole day was filled with traveling and more travelling! I guess it was fun, though, when we finally got to the Eurostar. For many people it was their first time on the Eurostar so the bus was buzzing with excitement.
The following day was packed full of fun. The day started off with a tour of the caves, which had some very creepy noises as you went around. Half way around the tour, you saw displays that were made by water and colours that were very bright and beautiful. To finish the day off we went to the D-Day Museum and learnt about the D-Day invasion.
On our last day we went to the La City de la Mere, doing lots of different activities throughout the day. To start off with, we looked around an old submarine, showing us the main parts and what life was like on board. Next, we were taken around a Titanic expedition. Finally, to finish the day off, we went to an aquarium where we saw many different kinds of fish with different colours, sizes and breeds. We then went to an open tannic where you can stroke baby sharks and rays.
Friday came and we were back on the road to go back to our families. I can personally say it was one of the best five days of my life thus far. If you don’t believe me this is what some of the rest of the class said: Ethan, also in 7.6, said, “I had a lot of fun and it was a great experience to mix with the rest of the class.” Amelia commented that it was “really good fun and enjoyable."
