CCF Dining Out
Dining Out it a long standing military tradition, in which a squadron will gather at a formal dinner to bid farewell to departing members.
On Tuesday 14th July 27 Cadets and 7 members of staff from the Priory RAF, CCF and Lincoln ACF sections travelled to the Petwood Hotel, Woodhall Spa, for their very first Dining Out evening.
Dining Out it a long standing military tradition, in which a squadron will gather at a formal dinner to bid farewell to departing members. Lt Ginty has held such events in the past with the Army Cadet Force at Lincoln City Priory Academy, and this year the Priory CCF joined with the ACF at the Petwood Hotel to say goodbye to 3 departing Senior NCO’s; Corporal Emily Green, Company Sergeant Major Sophie Vickers and Cadet Warrant Officer Edward Atkinson.
The evening was a huge success! All of the cadets presented themselves very well and this, coupled with a lovely 3 course meal, created a fantastic atmosphere for the evening. Both Sophie and Edward had prepared short speeches, and it was clear from the way the speeches were delivered just how much these two were going to miss being a part of the ACF and CCF respectively.
After the speeches, Staff from both the Army and RAF Sections of the CCF announced the End of Year awards in recognition of the Cadets’ excellent performance through the 2014/2015 academic year. The awards presented were as follows:
Best Shot – CSM Gregory Harrison
Most Improved Cadet – Cdt Sara Kahn
Best Drill and Turnout – Sgt Cara Jacques
Best Army Camp Performance – Cpl Carlos Gadd-Garcia
Best RAF Camp Performance – Cpl Callum Frances
Army Cadet of the Year – CSM Gregory Harrison
RAF Cadet of the Year – CWO Edward Atkinson
