Summer challenge for a worthy cause

This summer Ismena in year 9 is biking across France with her Dad to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Sadly, they're're not alone in having lost family members to cancer, and you probably know someone close to you who has had to deal with this disease.

This summer I am biking across France with my Dad to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Sadly, we're not alone in having lost family members to cancer, and you probably know someone close to you who has had to deal with this disease.  Macmillan do such an fantastic job in caring for these people and their families.  The advice and care they provide genuinely saves lives and can make the unbearable, bearable.  Research and advances in treatment for cancer are making fantastic progress in beating this horrible disease, but we want to help MacMillan be there for all the families who still need their support.

Our adventure begins on the 23rd of July from Basel Airport on the border between Switzerland and France.  We then head west, following the River Loire, and finish (hopefully!) on the 10th August in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins on the Atlantic Coast. We're carrying all our camping equipment with us on panniers and have been busy planning out all the 'pit-stops'.  We're planning on taking lots of photos en route and hope to update you on our progress as we go.

Our average amount of cycling will be around 40 miles per day, and the total will be about 580 miles. I'm not sure whether the amount of cycling will be the hardest part of the trip - listening to my Dad sing along to his old music will prove to be a challenge in itself...

It would be amazing if you could sponsor us to complete this challenge.  Thank you.
